Pictures: Midhurst fire station opens its doors

The Midhurst community turned out in force to meet their firefighting heroes.

Dozens of people went along to the Midhurst fire station open day on Saturday.

Firefighter Mark Purves said: “We had a steady stream of parents and children all day and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

“We also had a few people come along who were interested in becoming a retained firefighter.

“They left their contact details with us, so that was really pleasing.”

Visitors were treated to displays and demonstrations by the Midhurst crew, as well as being shown around the station and fire engines.
