Pink shock in Middleton store

Customers who visited a Middleton store found it a colourful experience.

A bright shade of shocking pink at Barleys was sported by all the employees of the hardware store and its fascia.

Sales staff, delivery drivers and office staff turned up in a variety of stunning outfits topped off with bunny ears, stetsons, fishnet stockings and feather boas.

Their colourful efforts were in aid of the Wear It Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness. Barleys manager Barry Lambert said the amount raised was £590.

“I am absolutely delighted my staff so enthusiastically entered into the spirit of the event,” he said. “I would especially like to thank all our customers for their very generous support.”

This was the second – and most successful – year in which the Middleton Road hardware firm had staged the pink event.

It again proved popular with customers. Many called in specially to see their favourite member of staff dressed up.
