The Pirates of the Caribbean came to Midhurst complete with Captain Jack Sparrow at the helm.
It was the annual summer festival of St Mary Magdelene and St Denys Church and everyone had taken this year’s ‘pirates’ theme to heart.
There was a treasure hunt complete with traditional treasure maps to put visitors in the right direction.
There was even a treasure island and a chance to meet the notorious Jack Sparrow – in this case a heavily-disguised vicar of Midhurst, the Rev Marcus Ronchetti.
Providing a musical accompaniment to the morning’s activities were the children of Midhurst Primary School with their Musical Mayhem and the vicar’s Samboogie band.
And all around Market Square and inside the church were a host of stalls ranging from plant, art and craft and cakes to tombola, books and attic treasures. Special pirate refreshments were also available.
More than £1,000 was raised during the event in aid of church funds.
