Plans for more than 30 TIlling Green houses submitted

Plans to build more than 30 new homes and a brand new community centre in Tilling Green have been submitted.

Housing association AmicusHorizon, together with Rye Partnership, have submitted the planning application to Rother District Council following a public consultation.

The cul-de-sac style development will feature 32 homes for rent and shared ownership.

The new community centre, replacing the existing centre located in a disused school, will sit at the front of the development.

AmicusHorizon project manager Tim Harris said: “We’re delighted to have submitted our plans to Rother District Council.

“The plans will not only provide much needed affordable housing in the area, but a fantastic new community centre which will be cost-efficient to run and more energy efficient.

“The modern structure will still accommodate all existing users and will welcome potential new groups too.

“We’re very excited with the plans and would like to thank everybody who came along to the public consultation and gave us their feedback.

“This has helped us shape our proposal.

“The local community remain key to the success of our development and we’ll continue to work closely with them.”

The developers said they are delighted to progress this scheme to the next stage having listened to the many comments from the consultation held at the Tilling Green Community Centre’s main hall in July.

They have made a number of changes to their initial proposals following the extensive feedback.

This includes increasing the number of car parking spaces for the community centre and revising the entrance to the side of the community centre to make it more accessible.

Concerns about potential noise disturbance have also been addressed.
