Police hunt man who grabbed girl by throat

The attacker pounced as the girl played in unmade Woodsgate Avenue on Sunday evening.

Police said the attacker attempted to drag the girl off but he was disturbed by calls from the victim's friend nearby.

"The terrified girl managed to break free and run to safety."

The attacker is said to be a white male, with blond wavy hair and aged between 35 and 40 years.

He was possibly wearing a blue shirt.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
