The pictures show forensic officers examining wreckage, while police dogs and aerial drones are used to aid with the painstaking investigation.

Also shown are some of the tokens of appreciation the community has given to the emergency services.

Earlier this afternoon, Andrew Lamb, director and assistant airshow organiser, said: “All of the volunteers from the Shoreham Air Show are united with our local community in sorrow and grief for everyone affected. At this exceptionally difficult time, our hearts go out to everyone who is trying to come to terms with the tragic event.

“We are continuing to provide every assistance to the authorities as part of the on-going investigation.”

“We are immensely grateful for the messages of support we have received from the general public. I would also like to reserve huge praise for the emergency services.”

The Fire Brigades Union has also moved to commend all the emergency Service personnel who dealt with the harrowing incident.

Danni Armstrong, secretary of the South East region of the FBU said: “Our members, along with other emergency services, have been working tirelessly since the weekend. They have been dealing with the fallout of this traumatic incident like the true professionals they are. The thoughts of all firefighters who responded to this tragic accident will be with the friends and families of the people who lost their lives.”
