The application, from Antler Homes Plc, is for land west of Guildford Road and has been recommended for approval by planning officers.

Made up of 19 houses and eight affordable flats, access to the site will be via the new road built for the Nursery Green development immediately to the north.

The council has received very few objections to the plans.

While Loxwood Parish Council supported the application ‘in principle’, concerns were raised about the sewerage connection to the site, its drainage, and a shortfall in parking spaces.

The parish was also not happy with the density of the development – 27 homes and a shop on less than one hectare of land – though the application was originally for 30 homes.

Another objector complained that a Public Right of Way would be diverted so that it ran alongside the site rather than cutting through it.

The planning committee will meet online on Wednesday January 6 at 9.30am.
