Developer seeks views on three Easebourne housing developments

Metis Homes is inviting the local community to view and comment on planning proposals for three development sites in Easebourne as part of an online public consultation.

The public consultation will showcase Metis Homes’ emerging plans for land at Cowdray Works Yard, land at Egmont Road and the former primary school, all of which have been allocated for development in the South Downs Local Plan.

The online public consultation will run from today (April 16) to April 30. View the plans and submit your feedback here.

Acting as the Cowdray Estate’s development partner, Metis Homes said it plans to deliver a series of bespoke residential developments of up to 20 homes each, and to make provision for an element of commercial development on the Cowdray Works Yard sites.

The developer said it wants to work 'closely with local communities and stakeholders' on the plans before planning applications are submitted to the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA).

Adam O’Brien, managing director at Metis Homes, said: “As a business we place significant emphasis on quality over quantity, and we take community consultation during the planning process very seriously to ensure our development proposals are well informed by local expertise and priorities.

“This public exhibition is an opportunity to display our proposals for the site and secure feedback from the local community and stakeholders which, where possible, would be fed into the final plans before we submit a full planning application.

“The Local Plan establishes the principle and extent of development on these sites. Accordingly, the purpose of our public consultation is to focus on matters of detail in order to ensure the schemes integrate sensitively with the character of the village.
