Power loss in Midhurst as tree falls on electricity line

A SERIES of short power cuts in the centre of Midhurst today (Wednesday, March 2) have been caused by a tree falling on a power line at Bepton in the strong winds and torrential rain earlier this morning.

A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) told the Observer engineers had been called to Bepton this morning after customers reported losing their power.

It has now been restored and the flickering power cuts in North Street were caused by engineers rerouting supplies to get electricity back to all customers.
