Prayers held at Chichester Cathedral for Shoreham Airshow victims

Prayers are being offered in services being held at Chichester Cathedral for those affected.

In a statement of behalf of the Cathedral, the very reverend Stephen Waine said: “The Chichester Cathedral Community are shocked and share a deep sense of grief following the tragic air accident at the Shoreham Airshow on Saturday.

“Prayers are being offered here at every service for those who lost their lives and their loved ones.

“We also continue to pray for members of the emergency services as they work in difficult conditions in the aftermath of the accident.

“The Cathedral is open every day for those who wish to offer prayers and Cathedral staff are available to give support.

“We will continue to pray for all those affected by this tragic event and will offer ongoing support in the weeks and months to come.”

Around 11 people are thought to have lost their lives while the pilot remains in a critical condition.”
