Premiere scoops cash for charity

A special film premiere in Bognor Regis has raised £2,000 for charity.

Organised by the Lions Club, more than 250 guests enjoyed being among the first in the area to see the new fairytale blockbuster Stardust at Bognor's first film premiere held at the Picturedrome.

The film was generously donated by Paramount Pictures for the charity night and many of those attending turned up in fancy dress for the event.

"Four charities will gain from the generosity of those who bought tickets and the management of the Picturedrome who helped the Lions Club organise it," said Richard Johns from the Lions about the successful event.

"We are most grateful for the outstanding support offered by Chris Alsop and his team who not only organised the film Stardust but also helped sell tickets, for the new film, a tale of fantasy, adventure. intrigue and love."

The Picturedrome and St Wilfrid's Hospice organised a raffle which raised nearly 500 on the night and the nominated charities of Bognor Hospital, Sammy Bus and Lions Club charities will each share in the proceeds from the event.

Special thanks also went to Peter Morgan the organist who provided the entertainment prior to the showing of the film and Mr Alsop said:

"It was such a successful evening, we hope to make it an annual charity event."
