Proms in the Park will have new look this year

The popular event will benefit from a makeover from its organisers at Bognor Regis Town Council.

Sue Holmes, the council’s head of street scene and leisure, said: “This is the first time that the event will have two bands playing during the evening.

“This has been made possible by sponsorship from Simply Delicious, the bistro and delicatessen in Lennox Street.”

The open-air musical treat will take place on Saturday, July 6. It will begin an hour earlier than usual, at 6.30pm, with a performance by Bognor Regis Concert Band.

This will include works by Holst, Malaguena and music from Thunderbirds, The Lion King and Les Miserables.

An interval will be followed by the Farnborough Concert Band of the Royal British Legion. Its performance will feature all the proms favourites such as the rousing Land of Hope and Glory and Sussex by the Sea until 9.30pm.

Simply Delicious will have a barbecue and beer tent.
