Public meeting anger over NHS

MORE than 250 people crowded into Seaford Baptist Church in Belgrave Road last night (Monday) for a public meeting about the future of healthcare in the town.

Nick Yeo, chief executive of East Sussex Downs and Weald Primary Care Trust and Norman Baker MP were the main speakers.

There was outrage as many members of the public shared their horror stories and experiences with the current NHS and strong fears were expressed that changes would make things even worse.

Changes to maternity provisions was on the agenda for the second half of the meeting and the message from the public was clear - babies will die if services (as currently proposed) are reduced.
