Pulborough fair pulls crowds to enjoy harvest

The Pulborough Harvest Fair is renowned across Sussex, and this year saw a record attendance as visitors made the most of the late September sun.

Malcolm Gray, chairman of the Harvest Fair Committee, said, “The Pulborough Community Partnership created the traditional village fair as a way to bring together the local community.

“We’ve been going for nearly a decade and the fair goes from strength to strength getting bigger and better every single year, with people coming to visit us from further afield.

“We had record attendance and the feedback has been incredible.”

Entertainment for the day included the Billingshurst Dog Agility, with Arun Vets mascot Victor stealing the show with his round; new talent with a set from local singer Konnar; Huxley’s Birds of Prey and Award winning kid’s entertainer Tom Foolery.

On the field there was Harris’ traditional Fun Fair, West Chiltington Silver Band, organ playing, bell ringing, apple bobbing with the Sea Scouts, puzzles, badge making, dough making, colouring and Welly Wanging with Sarah Morris and Tim Newton claiming this year’s golden boots.

The fair is organised on behalf of the Pulborough Community Partnership and all monies raised go towards community charities, as well as creating a fair to be held on the September 24, 2016.
