Pupils invite everyone to Chichester summer fair

PUPILS and staff at Chichester High School for Girls are getting ready to put on the school’s first community summer fair.

And much of it has been organised solely by pupils, including Iona Hooley, from Midhurst.

Iona is a Year 9 pupil on the organising committee. She said: “We’ve got lots of ideas for other games and competitions, and nearer the time we’re going to be baking lots of cakes.”

There will be games, a mini funfair, bouncy castles, a gym circuit, gifts, live music and displays.

Assistant headteacher Sue Lambourne said the event was for the whole community.

“There’ll be a barbecue, strawberries and cream, cakes and other refreshments, but people can bring their own picnics,” she said.

“We’re very grateful to the local businesses which are supporting our fair with some tremendous raffle prizes and all the organisations and groups who are providing information stands.”

The fair will take place on July 12, from 11am-3pm.
