Rafa members welcome visitors during open day

Air cadets greeted visitors to an open day held at a social venue in Bognor Regis.

Members of the 2351 Squadron were present at the event at the Royal Air Forces Association branch to ensure newcomers felt at ease straight away.

Several new members signed up after they had been shown around the Waterloo Square premises and chatted to those involved with it.

Among them were Jack and Linda Coachworth.

'We have been made to feel so welcome,' said Mr Coachworth.

There are 700 branch members and 514 members of the club who make use of the venue.

Club chairman Frank Hull said: 'While our aim is to raise funds for former and current RAF service personnel, we try to make sure that residents are aware just what Rafa is involved in as a charity.

'Not all branches have such a prestigious club on their doorstep.

'We felt it would be nice to open its doors for potential new members. They don't have to have RAF affiliations,' he added.
