Refuse collections ‘back to normal’

REFUSE collections across the Observer area are returning to normal.

Heavy snowfall on Friday, January 18, meant the council’s services had been disrupted.

But with clearer roads on Monday, January 21, collection vehicles were out and about once again.

Arun District Council reported on its website: “All refuse and recycling collections are operating as normal. Customers whose rubbish and recycling was not collected on 18/1/2013 will receive a collection today (21.01.13)”

And Chichester District Council has asked residents to leave their bins out, so their refuse can be collected at the first available opportunity, and also check the council’s website for updates.

A spokesperson said on the social networking site Twitter: “We’ve got extra crews on to catch up with the ones missed on Fri. We may have problems reaching a few roads in the North, but will get to them as soon as we can.”
