Rotary's £10,000 for college

A LEGACY to Seaford Rotary Club gave delighted staff and students at Seaford Head Community College a huge boost.

The pupils were the happy recipients of a cheque for a whopping 10,000.

The money is going towards the school's specialist status, with particular emphasis on science, mathematics, sport and computer technology.

In the pipeline are a new dance studio, a climbing wall, a new science laboratory and a new ICT suite.

Club vice-president Fred Breeds said: 'We thought it fitting that such a large gift should go to something that will benefit the whole community for many years to come.'

Principal Linton Golds said: 'We were so pleased that Seaford Rotary Club came forward right at the start of our appeal, as their generosity has acted as a spur to encourage other people and organisations to take the plunge.'
