It was a unique occasion for Midhurst vicar, the Rev Dave Willis whose parishes took the top two positions.

‘Ride & Stride’ takes place annually in September and last year raised £55,000, of which Midhurst area churches raised £6,125, a new high.

While St Mary’s Easebourne did not appear on the prize list riders raised £1,363.50. Other major contributors were St Margaret Fernhurst, £500, St Mary Magdalene & St Denys £745, St James, Stedham £761, All Hallows Woolbeding £1,921.50. Thanks went to all who not only raised funds but opened their churches.

This year’s event is on September 10
