NEIGHBOURS Michelle Hudson and Caroline Toms will have rather more than the normal garden fence conversation to share in a few weeks’ time – when they spend up to 14 hours together on an epic run.

The friends, of Kirdford Close, Rustington, and Michelle’s cousin Claudio Rodriguez, from Croydon, are taking part in the London 2 Brighton Challenge, a 100km (62.2 miles) run/walk from Richmond Park to Brighton, on May 25.

Calling themselves the Kirdford Crew, Michelle, 32, Caroline, 31 and Claudio, 37, are being sponsored for Tourettes Action, a charity helping people with Tourettes to be included in education and society, and supporting research.

Caroline’s nephew Cameron Zucconi, who lives in Aylesbury, was diagnosed with Tourettes last year, aged seven.

Setting off at 6am, the trio hope to complete the run in 13-14 hours and Michelle, pausing for breath during a 41-mile training session to Brighton and back, said their preparations were well on course.

They have set a target of raising £1,400 and would welcome support on their donation site, www.justgiving.com/caroline-toms1
