AUTUMN SHOW: Sedlescombe & District Garden Society are holding two events in October this year. The Society’s Autumn Show will be held this Saturday October 4 in the Village Hall and the theme of the show is “the Present”, bringing us up to date in their 70th anniversary celebrations. Staging of exhibits and judging takes place in the morning and the Show is open to the public at 2.00 p.m. admission 50p. Don’t miss this last show of 2014 for this very special year for the society.

FLOWER CLUB AGM: Sedlescombe and district flower club host their AGM on Wednesday October 8 at Sedlescombe village hall at 7.30pm. There will be the short formal business of the evening, refreshments and then an opportunity to sit, relax and view a hat fashion show. So all in all not too strenuous but a interesting and entertaining evening out. All members are invited to attend this important date of the year, visitors are welcome to come along for the viewing of the hats. QUIZ WITH FISH SUPPER: The final themed event in celebration of the SDGS 70th anniversary year is a Quiz with Fish Supper to be held on Friday October 17, in the Village Hall starting promptly at 7.15 p.m. The Quiz will be general knowledge but featuring music from the last 70 years, with a fish and chips supper served in the interval, newspaper will be available for those feeling nostalgic!. Teams of 6 are invited to come along, but if you can not find a complete team, do not despair, we will fix you up with others to make up the numbers,it may be an advantage for your team to have members from 2 different generations. Tickets are £7.00 per person and non-members would be more than welcome. We will provide the condiments and cutlery for those who don’t want to use their fingers, all you need to bring with you is a pen and your own liquid refreshments. It promises to be a fun evening for all the family. So that the catering can be finalised, please reserve your tickets by Monday October 13, there is a limit on the total number of places available so please act quickly to avoid disappointment. FASHION SHOW: On Thursday October 16 at Sedlescombe village hall there will be a fashion show by Catwalk Connections. This company have visited the village before and proved very popular with the audience, following the show which usually features local ladies, day and evening wear outfits will be available to purchase. Tickets are now available at £8 from Karen Dann on 07850775331 or at the school gate. Light bites and a bar will also be available. The fun starts from 7pm for 7.30pm. All profits will help Sedlescombe primary school.

PARISH CHURCH HARVEST FESTIVAL: Well done to those who helped to create the harvest festival that took place last Sunday at the Parish Church. It was a meaningful service in beautiful surroundings followed by a delicious supper with friends. We all have a lot to be thankful for if we live in Sedlescombe.
