Misuse of loading bays for parking and eroded double yellow lines are exacerbating Midhurst’s continuing traffic nightmare.
Steve Morley said he had toured the town with Chichester District Council’s civil enforcement officer (CEO): “I went round in an endeavour to understand why Midhurst was suffering so much traffic congestion.”
He said some badly eroded double yellow lines needed restoring and he had asked CDC’s parking officer to address this. But misuse of loading bays by ‘selfish’ motorists’ was ‘incredible’.
It left lorries doubled parked and ‘traffic going nowhere’.
Now the issue is to be debated by the council’s planning and infrastructure committee to find a solution.
