Carers’ Support Selsey say they could fold and lose their information and support centre on the high street by September because of a lack of funds. Fiona Hall from the charity said: “There’s a lot of funding out there for new charities and projects, but not much for established charities like us.

“We run an information centre which is also a shop but the rent on it is around £10,000 a year, and what with our other core costs like utilities and wages, our total costs are around £25,000 a year.

“We’ve put in lots of applications for grants but as yet not heard anything back, and if we carry on as we are we estimate we’ll have to close by September, so it’s a dire situation.”
