Serious collision between lorry and car closes A27 in Chichester

A lorry and a car were reportedly involved in a collision on A27 Westbound from A286 Stockbridge Road (Stockbridge Roundabout) to A259 Cathedral Way (Fishbourne Roundabout).

Police and paramedics, joined by an air ambulance, attended the scene and the road has been closed since 3.50am, traffic reports said.

According to Highways England, traffic is being diverted and a police investigation is underway.

A spokesperson for Highways England said: "Please allow additional time for your journey and, if possible, consider alternative routes as this is likely to impact into the morning peak travelling times."
