More than 700 people took to the ice when the Grange Leisure Centre at Midhurst played host to a world of winter wonderland after Christmas.

An impressive 12 by ten-metre ‘ice’ rink was set up in the main hall along with a festive play zone, bouncy castle and the Creations Stations ‘make and take’ crafts corner.

It was open to members of the public for four days from December 28 to New Year’s Eve and included a ‘golden ticket’ competition with prizes donated by Kavanagh’s Budgens, Seven Fish, Between the Lines, Serenity Beauty Room and the Wheatsheaf pub.

Mike Boyce, centre manager at the Grange, said: “Over the past four days we’ve had an average of 180 visitors each day enjoying all the activities. It’s great we’ve been in a position to be able to host the ice rink for the second year, with the support from Kavanagh’s Budgens, but this year it’s been a real community effort with the support from other local businesses. All in all it’s been a great success and we’re planning the 2012 Winter Wonderland already!”
