Smoking fears
Firefighters teamed up with health experts in Bognor Regis yesterdayto highlight the dangers caused by smoking.
They use national stop smoking day to stage a display in the town's Tesco store to show that smoking and fires make a deadly mixture.
County community fire safety officer Jackie Boyle said: 'Smoking materials cause the greatest number of fire deaths in the home. Most casualties occurred between 6pm and midnight.
'The sitting room and bedroom are the main danger sites, with the sitting room twice as dangerous. Sleeping and inattention are clearly key dangers.'
