Held in the Enchanted Meadow, it promises to transport visitors back in time to experience the verve and vigour of a world where lives were harsh and hearts were passionate.

The programme of mediaeval mayhem will be held from 10am to 6pm on the weekends of August 6&7, and 14&15.

In addition to the fast-paced jousting tournament, there will be daring displays of weaponry, archery and cannon fire as fully armoured knights prepare to meet in battle.

Internationally acclaimed singing group the Mediaeval Baebes will perform on the main stage, while the massive Living History Village offers a totally authentic recreation of a mediaeval battle camp. There’s a chance to browse the market place and companies of actors, the Court Jester, and dance troupes entertain the crowds throughout the day. A new addition this year is Sir Lancelot the Bald, resplendent in tight performing improbably stunts and cheeky comedy.

Visitors can try their hand at archery, sup fine ales and dine on local organic fayre, while Mini Mediaeval Mayhem is provided at the Children’s Kingdom, where the Groat is the currency. Children can have a go at archery, Pelt the Peasant, try face and wound painting and this year can also enrol in Sword School and learn to be an apprentice knight.

The Loxwood Joust is located off the B2133 between Wisborough Green and Loxwood at the Loxwood Meadow RH14 OAL and has ample Free Parking.
