Those helped through the fund raising efforts of parishioners included the London City Mission, the Church Mission Society and Impact Asia.

Others received funds too, thanks to a selection of cakes stalls, book stalls, bric-a-brac and the serving of refreshments.

Money was also raised for the planned extension to the church hall, which would provide modern facilities and more floor space.

Julia Maling, leader of the world wide mission group at the church, said: "We don't normally have a spring fair, so the turn out has been very good.

"Each table here is raising money for a different charity."
