St Mary's Wrestwood school's annual Christmas Fayre

IT COULD have been the first day of the sales judging by the throng of people flocking to the St Mary's Wrestwood school's annual Christmas Fayre last Saturday.

It was easy to see why this event proved to be so popular as there was an abundance of items for sale, games to play, crafts, delicious home-made cakes to eat and much more.

Santa was there in his 'grotto' and children could also purchase reindeer food in anticipation of December 24th when perhaps Rudolf and the rest of the reindeer might be in need of refreshment.

Of the many games to play there was Play Your Cards Right, a Human Fruit Machine and 'Guess the Weight of the Cake', or alternatively there was face-painting and the opportunity to make a scrumptious gingerbread house.

There was a grand fifty prize raffle, a tombola and another chocolate tombola with the books and toys stalls proving to be very popular.

Overwhelmed by the volume of people attending the fayre organiser Sue Munn said, "The people of Bexhill always kindly support us so much and this event just wouldn't be possible or be so successful without them. We are very grateful."
