A FORMER hospital worker accused of sexual activity with a patient with mental health problems has walked free.
Sajin Panikkassery, 29, formerly of Langton Road, Chichester, has been found not guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a 22-year-old woman at St Richard’s Hospital.
A trial lasting over two weeks was heard at Brighton Crown Court.
Judge Waddicor said the jury had to be sure Mr Panikassery ‘started the incident’ to find him guilty.
“He is a man of good character,” she said.
“He led a chaste life until he met his wife.”
The jury returned the verdict this morning (Wednesday 16).
