Staff keep flood hit chemist open

Staff at a Bognor Regis pharmacy have kept the business open this weekin spite of being badly flooded.

The employees at Dexter's Pharmacy worked non-stop to clear the damage at its London Road premises to ensure its customers were still able to receive their health service prescriptions. The damage was discovered when the first workers arrived to open at 9am on Monday to find the ground floor pharmacy suffering from extensive water damage.

The problem was caused by a burst pipe in the flat above the previous afternoon.

Pharmacy owner Bryan Turner said: 'We have lost most of the ceiling and had to take up the carpet. We have also lost some electrical equipment.'
