State of Adur forum in Lancing

THE annual State of the Adur District Forum will this year be held on Saturday, October 6, at Boundstone Community College, Lancing.

People will be given the chance to influence the district council's response to the West Sussex Primary Care Trust's Fit for the Future consultation, which could see Worthing and Southlands Hospitals downgraded.

The forum will start at 10am with a presentation of the options proposed by the PCT.

There will then be the opportunity for people to put their views in writing regarding the proposals and what they will mean to them as Adur residents.

People are also welcome to drop in at any time, until noon.

Those attending will also be asked record their views on transport and access, young people, local economy, local health issues and emergency care.

There will be free transport, supplied by Adur Community Transport, from Lancing railway station to and from Boundstone Community College from 9.30am until 12.30pm.

Adur council leader Neil Parkin said: "We feel that this is such an important issue that will affect all the residents of Adur and we need your voices to be heard.

"And because of this we are holding this event during the day in the west of the district.

"The PCT meetings have been in the evening in the east of the district.

"I hope as many people as possible; particularly those who would not come out in the evening will come and give us their views.

"Please try to make the time to come and see us future generations depend on it."
