Despite having to dodge the odd shower, residents from across the Bognor Regis, Chichester and Midhurst and Petworth areas enjoyed the local amenities and facilities in the Observer – while others flocked to the shops to support the local businesses.

And to keep this momentum going the Observer is launching a The Longest Day to tie in with our Summer of Love campaign, supported by the Observer’s owners Johnston Press throughout June, and urging readers to go out there and send us pictures and videos of what they are doing on Friday, June 21, the longest day of the year.

It could be something as simple as sitting in your garden, it could be enjoying a lunch at a local businesses, it could be fun after-school (or in-school) activities, it could be a coffee morning at your work!

Whatever you are up to – we want to know about it and we will be sharing them with your fellow readers.

By the end of the longest day we will creating a special ‘Life in a Day’ video using what YOU send us.

Editor Colin Channon said: “The Observer team will also be joining The Longest Day and sharing with you their videos of what they are up to on June 21.

“But you don’t have to wait until June 21 to get involved – send us your pictures and videos now of what you love about the Observer area to help spread to feel-good factor.

“There is so much to celebrate about living in West Sussex – so let’s show the world what life is really like and why it is such a wonderful place to live in, work in and visit.”

Email your videos and pictures to [email protected].
