SHOPPERS across the Chichester district are being urged to support local, independent stores and producers as part of British Food Fortnight from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, October 5.
There will be a farmers’ market at Petworth on Saturday, September 27 in Golden Square from 8.30am-1.30pm.
On offer will be fruit and vegetables, specialist cheeses, meat and game, fish caught at Selsey, honey, cakes, chutneys and plants.
Stallholders have to grow, rear, bake, and preserve all their produce and be based within 30 miles of Chichester.
The theme this year is ‘bringing the harvest home’ and the aim is to educate people about the importance of the season.
