Sussex supports Macmillan with coffee morning fundraisers

Organisations and groups all over Sussex put the kettle on to take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26.

Specsavers in Chichester raised a grand total of £116.22 by hosting a cake sale in store, and £174 was raised in two hours by the Evergreen Club in Mornington Crescent, Felpham.

Lakeview Childcare in Chichester also hosted a coffee morning to raise funds for the Macmillan nurses.

More than £100 was raised at Specsavers in Chichester

Great Ballard School raised £203.75 at its coffee morning event, which saw children aged from nursery to form eight take part, serving teas and coffees and selling cakes provided by the school and parents.

Other schools, including Oakwood School in Chichester and the South Bersted Church  of England School, took part in the fundraising event.

Nyewood C of E Junior School hosted a Macmillan morning which raised the grand total of £271.

Teri Ashpool from the Billingshurst Macmillan Support Group held a wine and cake evening at The Six Bells in Billingshurst to raise funds for the charity, an event which raised £212.50 for the appeal.Tracy Turland of Petworth, along with a team of volunteers, managed to raise £1350 at a coffee morning held at Leconfield Hall in Petworth.

Fundraising fun at South Bersted Church of England school

Tracy said: “Plenty of cakes were sold and coffee drunk. We had two lovely ladies who provided free reflexology and Indian head massages to relax our patrons before they tried their luck on our tombola and raffle. Home grown produce was snapped up as well as handmade crafts. We’d like to thank everyone who came and supported us as we along with many of them have had support from Macmillan over the past few years. We look forward to people joining us again next year.”

The team at Glasshouse Coffee Shop at Rotherhill Nurseries raised £628.21 at their store’s coffee morning on September 25.

Tesco at Broadbridge Heath raised £354.28 by collecting at the store.

£8,034.95 was raised at a Steam Rally held at Langhurst Hill Farm at Balls Cross.

A Macmillan coffee morning held at Middleton Sports Club raised £1300 thanks to the residents of Middleton on Sea.

Tenants of Bognor Regis supported living scheme Sanctuary Group put on an array of tasty treats on September 25, raising around £100 for Macmillan.

South Downs Holiday Village at Bracklesham Bay hosted a coffee morning which raised over £324 for the charity.

A coffee morning was also held at Gatley’s Pet Store in Storrington, at which more than £400 was raised for Macmillian.
