Tangmere Military Aviation Museum receives Gloster Gladiator

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum was delighted to be presented with a splendid model of a Gloster Gladiator aircraft.

It was particularly appropriate for this model to come to Tangmere, as it was here the first delivery of the newly-commissioned aircraft for the RAF arrived in February 1937.

The model was constructed by Lt Kenneth Edwards, RN.

Sadly, Kenneth died before he was able to complete construction, but it was his wish it should come to Tangmere.

It was presented to the museum by his widow, Joan.

Trevor Bowry, a member of CADMAC (Chichester and District Model Aero Club) and also a volunteer at the museum, brought together the uncompleted aircraft and Bruce Smith, a fellow member of CADMAC, completed the model beautifully.
