FOOTNOTES: Well, the winter weeds are being cleared, the lawns have had their first cut of the season, so spring really must be on its way. Trundling through the town this week, it was a pleasure to see so many daffodils, crocuses, etc appearing in peoples’ front gardens. I am always grateful when I see a front garden in bloom. So many these days are covered in concrete with the latest product of the motor industry perched on it. It is not just the loss of a green space, but flood experts tell us it is a contributory factor to urban flooding. I appreciate that parking your prized possession in the road is not always the best thing to do, but I do wonder when I see a car parked in what had once been a garden ,right in front of garage doors. People can be odd, me among them really. Chaplin, my new black and white feline lodger, to whom I regularly read this column to, normally responds by draping himself across the keyboard of the laptop, thus indicating to me that it is time for him to be fed and also for me to finish this and to make a fuss of him. Enjoy your week and go safely where ever you are.
