Thieves steal sat nav device from parked car

A sat nav system was stolen from a parked car on Sunday (May 9).

Thieves smashed a window and took the item as the Chrysler Voyager was parked outside Yongs Chinese restaurant in Vicarage Road at around 10.50pm.

Two men were seen running away towards Mount Pleasant Road.

Police are reminding people not to leave similar items in their car and making them easy targets for thieves.

PC Duncan Cleverley, of Hastings Police, said: "We would ask people not leave sat nav systems, lap top computers or any coats and bags on view to thieves when cars are left unattended, even for a few minutes.

"It only takes a moment for a car window to be broken."

PC Claire Middleton, who is investigating this incident, can be contacted on 0845 6070999.
