Thousands flock to brocante winter fair

Visitors flocked to Cowdray Park when popular Country Brocante held its latest event – the two-day winter fair.

The fair took place on the lawns at Cowdray Park last weekend when more than 3,000 visitors turned out and in excess of 100 stall holders set up for business in the park offering a wide variety of items for sale over the course of the fair.

Lucy Haywood, of The Country Brocante, who organised the event, told the Observer: “We are thrilled so many people came to the winter fair.

“Many of those people who attended it had never been to this area before and took advantage of exploring Cowdray, its Farm Shop & Café and the town of Midhurst during their visit.”

Lucy also runs The Country Brocante Store in West Street, Midhurst.

The shop is one of many retail outlets which will be open tomorrow (Friday) evening when Midhurst will be hosting late-night shopping during the annual Christmas street party from 6pm to 8pm. The evening will begin with singing from children from the local schools.
