Thousands at Goodwood Aerodrome for Battle of Britain flypast

Thousands of people are making their way to Goodwood Aerodrome today to see the biggest gathering of Battle of Britain aircraft since the Second World War.

Dozens of planes will thunder through the skies to mark the aerial conflict’s 75th anniversary.

The spectacle is set to take place around 2pm.

Pilots have had their pre-flight briefing and Prince Harry, celebrating his 31st birthday, has carried out an inspection of the aircraft.

Around 40 Spitfires, Hurricanes and Bristol Blenheim bombers will fly in formation from Goodwood Aerodrome before dispersing across wartime airfields over the South of England.
