Three admit affray

THREE men have pleaded guilty to causing an affray at the Broadway Fun Bar in Uckfield High Street.

Stuart Mathiot, 31, of The Drive, and brothers Justin Blackford, 30, and Martin, 28, both of High Street, were arrested following a brawl with door staff on December 12 last year.

Dennis Rice, prosecuting, told Lewes Magistrates Court on Wednesday that the three men were known to the bar's bouncers and there had been a disagreement after the Blackford's younger brother had been ejected from the club.

A scuffle broke out involving a clash of heads and a number of police were called to break up the melee which was captured on CCTV. Nobody was seriously injured.

The trial was adjourned until March 3 for pre-sentence reports. The trio were released on bail on the condition they did not attempt to contact prosecution witnesses or enter the Broadway Fun Bar.
