Three men '˜randomly attacked' by group in Hastings

Three men sitting on a bench in Hastings town centre were reportedly attacked by a group on Sunday evening (July 17).

The three men, all 25 and from Hastings, were sitting on a bench near McDonalds in Wellington Place, when they were kicked and punched, for no apparent reason, by a number of people who then made off at around 9.45pm, according to police.

One of the victims sustained a broken jaw and collar bone, another one sustained cuts and bruises, and the third was punched but suffered no injury.

Detective Constable Julian Stokes said; “There is at present no known motive for this incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in Hastings town centre on Sunday evening and who saw anything of what happened.
