Three renowned car manufacturers confirmed for Festival of Speed
With it now only a week away, exciting news has been announced that three renowned car manufacturers from around the world are once again exhibiting at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Celebrating its centenary year, BMW will take centre stage.
The company will be the Central Feature Marque showcasing famous cars and drivers from throughout its illustrious history.
Three of BMW’s legendary vehicles - the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster, the Gordon Murray designed Brabham-BMW, and the Le Mans-winning BMW V12 LMP - will have a starring role on the iconic sculpture.
Car enthusiasts at the prestigious festival will also be treated to the world premier of the MINI Seven.
Inspired by classic Mini heritage fused with modern design technology, the car will feature specially designed exterior and interior looks unseen before on this generation’s model line-up.
Joining MINI Seven on the stand will be the new MINI John Cooper Works Challenge.
Developed by a specialised team of racing drivers at Plant Oxford, this model is exclusively for the UK market.
Visitors to the MINI stand will also be able to interact with a 3D virtual exhibit.
Created to celebrate 100 Years of BMW Group and demonstrate the brand’s vision for the future, it showcases the MINI VISION NEXT 100 vehicle.
Volkswagen is also marking an anniversary at the festival.
To commemorate 40 years since the iconic Golf GTI went on sale in the United Kingdom, the first model - the Mk1 from 1976 - will tackle the Goodwood hill.
Fans of the car will have the chance to see how it has developed over the years and the possible future of the Golf GTI is hinted at with the Golf GTE Sport concept car, which is powered by an advanced plug-in hybrid system.
