‘Three-vehicle’ collision on A22 outside Eastbourne

A collision on a major Eastbourne road has caused it to be blocked.

Emergency services have been called to the A22, between the Upper Dicker turn off and the Golden Cross petrol station, after the incident before 11am this morning (July 8).

Three vehicles are said to have been involved, according to traffic reports.

There is queuing traffic and the road both ways is partially blocked, according to reports.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson said, “We got the call at 9.20am to a road opposite Camelot Road. We are clearing the scene.

“There were four patients, three did not need hospital treatment and one person declined hospital treatment.”

A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Two vans a car were involved on the A22 at Lower Dicker at 9.16am on Wednesday (July 8). Minor injuries. The road was cleared by 11am.”
