An award-winning Tillington pub is basking in the glory of yet another accolade.
The Horse Guards Inn has been named County Dining Pub of the Year in The Good Pub Guide 2016 – for the second year in a row.
No strangers to success, the team at the pub have now won the title for the third time –having been given the honour in 2013 and 2015.
Run by landlord and landlady Sam Beard and Misha Hofirkova, the devoted pair spend hours with their team of chefs picking the best locally-sourced ingredients for their dishes.
The pub also boasts a bed and breakfast.
Sam, who has worked in the trade all his life, was delighted with the acknowledgement.
“It’s a great bit of recognition for the fantastically hard-working team both in the kitchen and in the restaurant,” said Sam.
“The kitchen team is led by our head chef Mark Robinson while the restaurant is managed by Ben Beard and Gemma Owens.
“Going forward we will continue working with all our amazing local growers, producers and farmers so that we can keep creating and serving the best, most local, most honest, and most sustainable food we can.
“The Horse Guards is a testament to what a great community pub can do in a great West Sussex location with a hard-working, passionate and loyal team who promote and believe in what we do.”
