THE heroes of your local communities will again be recognised at the Observer Community Awards tonight (December 15).

The glitzy presentation evening takes place at Butlin’s Bognor Regis where the winners of 13 categories will be revealed, plus the winner of our Observer Award for Special Achievement.

Everyone is invited to go along to the free event to watch their local stars crowned.

For the first time ever we will be naming two winners for each of the awards – a readers’ choice and a judges’ pick.

Observer content editor Kelly Brown said: “This year, as always, we’ve had brilliant nominations in every category.

“There are so many wonderful people coming along on Monday that we have decided for the first time to have two winners for each of the awards. It’s always a night that everyone at the Observer looks forward to and it promises to be another fantastic evening.

“The evening is free so come and help us toast the people that matter most.”

Local legend Fred Dinenage will again be hosting the evening and meeting our nominees.

Rolls-Royce are again the main sponsors of the awards, and representatives from all of our backers will be there to hand out the prizes.

As well as hearing stories from the unsung heroes of our community, there will also be entertainment and carols, as well as the chance to win a family stay at Butlin’s.

Doors open at 6.45pm and the night is due to finish at 9pm with everyone welcome to attend the free of charge ebvent.

It takes place on Monday, December 15 in the Reds Theatre, Butlin’s Bognor Regis.
