Air ambulance attend road traffic collision in Runcton

A female driver was air lifted to hospital last night after a road traffic collision in Runcton.

Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance were called at 9.33pm after a grey Fiat had left the road and overturned in Vinne Trow Road.

Fire crews from Chichester and Bognor and a rescue tender from Chichester also attended to release the trapped woman using hydraulic rescue equipment. The local woman in her 20s suffered injuries to her head and abdomen and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.

The air ambulance landed in a nearby field and the HEMS crew accompanied the patient to hospital by road.

Vinne Trow Road was closed until the scene was made safe and the vehicle was recovered at approximately 11.40pm.

Police are asking witnesses to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1257 of 24/04.
