It said: “At 6.49am on Wednesday (3 August) police were called to the A27 eastbound on its approach to the Bognor Bridge roundabout, Chichester, where a motorcyclist and a minibus had been in collision.

“The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. No other injuries were reported.

“Eastbound lanes on the dual carriageway were closed until 8.20am while the scene was cleared, unfortunately resulting in long traffic queues. Police wish to thank drivers for their patience.”

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said they attended the scene at 6.55am this morning and sent one ambulance.
