Horsebox destroyed after fire near Wisborough Green

Dramatic photographs show the scene after a horsebox was destroyed by a fire on the A272 near Wisborough Green on Saturday (July 25).

No horses were involved in the blaze, which broke out at around 7.10pm.

Overhead cables were affected by the fire, and were inspected for damage by a BT engineer.

As a result, some village residents have lost phone and internet connections.

Firefighters from Billingshurst and Horsham worked to extinguish the flames and left the scene at around 8.40pm.

Two hose reels, a foam hose reel and two breathing apparatus were used to fight the fire, which was ruled accidental.
