Pevensey and Westham crossing temporarily closed

The Pevensey and Westham crossing will be closed from 10pm to 6am every day this week from today (Monday, January 25).

The closures will end on Friday morning (January 29) and a safe route will be provided for pedestrians while vehicular access for residents and to properties will be maintained whenever possible.

Alternative routes for through traffic will be via B2191 Eastbourne Road, C712 Rattle Road, B2104 Lion Hill, B2104 Friday Street, B2104 Willingdon Roundabout, B2104 Friday Street, B2104 Hide Hollow Roundabout, B2191 Hide Hollow, B2191 Priory Roundabout, B2191 Hide Hollow, B2191 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

Track maintenance, which is being carried out by Network Rail, is set to end on Friday morning (January 29).

Work started on the crossing back in March 2020 and is due to be finished completely within the next seven months.
